Additive Manufacturing of Industrial Parts: A Method Overview and Recent Applications
Original language description
Additive manufacturing technologies are the current trend. Although their history is not long, they found a prominent place also in the manufacture of engineering products. These technologies are used for the manufacturing of complex shaped components whose manufacture by convention and non-convention methods would be very complicated or even impossible. Most methods of additive manufacturing are designed for prototyping and small batch production. This chapter focuses on the summary of the available methods of additive manufacturing in the manufacture of engineering components. It is given an overview of the methods, manufacture mechanism, construction materials and recommended applications.
