Original language description
The processing of rubber compounds in the rubber industry is highly energy demanding. To transform the rubber compound into a plastic state, in which further processing is possible, a huge amount of energy is required. Firms involved in the processing of rubber compositions use mechanical energy in most cases, in particular from roll rubber mills or extruders. The required heat energy generated by the considerable mechanical friction of the material on the walls of the processing machines is at a cost of a high power comsuption.
