PEO-based Films Prepared by Plasma Polymerization from Bulk Precursors
Original language description
Biodegradable polymers play important role in many biomedical applications. Polyethylene oxide (PEO) is know for its antifouling properties and ability to protect the surfaces from microbial attacks. Plasma assisted vacuum thermal deposition uses oligomers released during low pressure thermal decomposition of bulk polymer "precursor" either to form the thin film directly or after plasma re-polymerization. In this way, various properties of the film can be controlled. This method was applied to obtain films based on PEO precursors.
