Approaches to Powder Injection Moulding Optimization
Original language description
Powder injection moulding technology represents an attractive processing alternative to machining and casting in production of small complex-shaped precision metal and ceramic parts. Current research is concerned with the factors of the process such as feedstock composition and its flow properties which govern powder and binder separation – the most severe quality and efficiency limiting issue of PIM. In this paper, the quantification of the separation as well as the approaches to determine the major influencing factors are presented.
