    Iron oxide nanoparticles dispersions: feasibility for magnetic hyperthermia

  • Original language description

    Magnetic hyperthermia (MH) is a cancer treatment method that uses heat to destroy tumor cells. This heat is generated by magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) placed in an alternating magnetic field (AMF). When the temperature reaches 42–45 °C, cancer cells are damaged, while healthy tissues remain unharmed. One of the biggest challenges in MH is creating MNP dispersions that can efficiently reach the tumor, distribute evenly, stay there for a long time, and generate sufficient heat under medically safe AMF. This study aims to develop stable water-based MNPs dispersions and compare their magneto-structural properties, as well as heating performance, to commercially available samples.
