On some relations between international migration and development

The chapter of the book discusses some aspects of the 3R?s concept of international migration and development of developing countries, with a structure of the chapter as follows. The first section deals with skilled migration. Remittances are a subject of the second and return migration of the third section. The fourth section deals with selected IOM?s experiences from various parts of the world to illustrate practical application of the theoretical models. Special focus is devoted to the Central European region where the migration-development debate has emerged only recently with respect to a changing status of the Central European countries from a recipient to a donor of development assistance. Finally, concluding remarks are given.

Kapitola knihy diskutuje některé aspekty konceptu 3R vztahů mezinárodní migrace a rozvoje rozvojových zemí, se strukturací kapitoly následujícím způsobem. První část se zabývá migrací kvalifikované pracovní síly. Remitence jsou předmětem zájmu druhé a zpětná migrace třetí sekce. Čtvrtá podkapitola se věnuje zkušenostem IOM s problematikou migrace a rozvoje z různých částí světa pro ilustraci praktické aplikace teoretických modelů. Speciální pozornost je věnována střední Evropě, kde byla debata o vztazích migrace a rozvoje zahájena teprve nedávno v souvislosti s měnícím se statutem středoevropských zemí jako donora rozvojové pomoci. V závěru jsou shrnuty hlavní poznatky.
