Impact of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) on the economic indicators of farms in the middle-European post-communistic countries
Original language description
The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is a system of European Union (EU) agricultural subsidies and programmes. The issue of EU subsidies for farmers is linked to the historical traditions of the CAP, the specific circumstances of the small farms, a political support for maintaining rural agricultural communities and naturally influences the economic standard of farms in the European Union. The aim of this paper is the analysis of the Common Agricultural Policy and its impact on the agriculture of the four middle-European post-communistic countries - the Czech Republic, the Slovakia, the Poland and the Hungary. The paper also includes case study of the less-favoured areas payment system.
