Three points of view on the man activities and predispositions connected with regional development and differentiation are submitted by authors of the monograph. This monograph contains some introduction ideas to the possible way of research in regionalscience. The first part of the monograph is focused at the competitiveness of the Czech Republic and its regions. The author describes the main factors surrounding the Czech Republic?s regional development, briefly comments on the main regional disparities and characterizes the development trends in the Czech Republic´s regional structure. The second part of the monograph refers to definition and dimensions of the quality of life. Author set twenty-one indicators aggregated in four indexes (of deprivation, of humane capital?).
