This study investigated the relationship between distinctive capabilities and performance of SMEs considering the strategic management concepts. Eighty two manufacturing SMEs were selected for the study. Mainly, five distinctive capabilities and three financial performance indicators were selected to test relationship between two variables. According to the research study findings, there was a correlation between selected five distinctive capabilities and three performance indicators. Therefore, it canbe concluded that there was a clear relationship between distinctive capabilities and performance of Sri Lankan SMEs. Authorities must pay attention to develop distinctive capabilities of SMEs in Sri Lanka because it leads to develop current situation ofSri Lankan SMEs.
