A common form of business arrangement that has permeated through the fast food industry is franchising. Franchising has been used by many entrepreneurs as an entry strategy into the ever competitive fast food industry. Reputable fast food brands are mostly preferred by franchisees because it is relatively easier to leverage on the long lasting credibility to reap faster returns. The aim of this paper is to provide some suggestions on how firms can build and leverage on brand franchises for competitive advantage in the fast food industry. The study concludes by suggesting some strategies that can be used in building formidable brand franchises in the fast food industry.
