Current Issues of Resource Sharing and Provisioning Paradigm
Original language description
Distributed resource sharing and provisioning paradigm, namely cloud computing, has been seeing gradual adoption due to total cost of ownership savings, increased productivity, flexibility, geographical independence when accessing data, mobility, and general tendency towards the ?IT as a service? model. Challenges of migrating software as well as hardware infrastructure to the cloud, data security policies, uptime guarantees together with economic aspects have, however, emerged as a response to the distributed nature of the cloud. The article attempts to summarize proposed definitions of cloud computing, explain differences between cloud and grid computing, and present its issues in face of rising global usage. Theoretically proposed are also changes which may help facilitate the process of relocating resource-intensive as well as routine tasks into the cloud.
