Labour market is a natural element of every market economy. Imbalances between labour demand and labour supply represent a serious macroeconomic issue in every market-oriented society. From the perspective of the Classical Theory of Economics, labour market changes are influenced especially by economic factors resulting from economic development of particular country. Global economic crisis affected the Czech Republic in the second half of 2008. Downturn in economic activity, linked to economic recession, significantly impacted the situation on the Czech labour market. Apart from the economic factors, various non-economic factors can influence labour market development trends as well. These include demographic changes in the Czech Republic under the pressure of the ongoing economic crisis since 2008. These changes of the Czech labour market under the pressure of economic and demographic changes since 2008 are the topic of this paper.
