Economic Instruments Supporting Sustainable Development on the Regional Level in the Czech Republic
Original language description
It is desirable that the widest society adopts and becomes acquainted with principles and requirements of sustainable developments. Each region creates its development with different tools and it depends only on regional leaders, in which extent they include requirements for sustainable development to regional strategies. Economic instruments, including taxes, fees, charges, fines, subsidies and some other tools are currently recommended as one of the most important instruments for supporting the sustainable development. The aim of this paper is to analyze economic instruments usable to promote sustainable development on the regional level in the Czech Republic. The results show that only subsidies can be directly used in favour of the sustainable development in case of Czech regions while the other instruments are not usable at all or just partially.
