The article focuses on the definition of a successful student and university graduate and their contribution to the demand side of the labour market. A lot of attention is paid to the university graduates especially since 2008, when theyhave become modern risk group in the implementation of the labour market. Data used in this article research are based on the results of a workshop with representatives from practice. FreeMind softwareis usedin the research section. The research analyses the criteria according to which employers evaluate the success or the failure of the university student and graduate as well as the requirements of the companies on fresh graduates at the Faculty of Management and Economics of Tomas Bata University in Zlín.
