Evaluation of company?s performance is essential for stakeholders in the company, which are investors, suppliers, customers, managers, employees. Until recently measuring performance was based primarily on financial indicators alleging from accounting concepts and profit maximization. These measurement has proved to be insufficient and therefore new methods of eliminating without this weaknesses were sought. One of the tools of performance measurement is also Balanced Scorecard, which is discussed in this article. Article clarifies the concepts of performance, performance measurement, Balanced Scorecard, Key Performance Indicators. Literature review describes the current status of the use of key performance indicators as a tool in measuring business performance.
