Based on an in-depth review of academic studies, this paper seeks to investigate current changes in Western and Asian management thinking in the contemporary business sphere, influencing strategic and performance management. Moreover, the results are supported by a series of interviews with managers from selected Western and Asian companies. Based on the evidence, this paper identifies and explores how these changes in management thinking are implemented, and what influences they have had on businesses. The paper concludes by emphasizing the main lessons learned, noting the limitations of the study, and suggesting areas for further research in both theory and practice.
