Entrepreneurial development has been linked with economic empowerment especially among regions in developing countries. This study aimed at assessing the linkage and impact of entrepreneurial development on poverty reduction in Vayots Dzor Region Armenia. The study made use of secondary data from Armenian National Statistical Service and Ministry of Territorial Administration. Descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis were the adopted analytical techniques. Results revealed that the poverty rate in the region reduced over the understudied years by 2.1% while the level of participation of entrepreneurial development measure by the number of firms, shops and kiosks, owned were increased over the years, although the increase in all the cases were marginal. Correlation matrix analysis showed a significant negative correlation coefficient between the poverty rate and entrepreneurial development indicators which include kiosks, agricultural markets, shops and retail trade units. The research was constrained with data availability for the selected regions. We were only to obtain 10 years data for the region in respect to the indicators needed for the study. Therefore. the study only covered a decade. This study concludes that entrepreneurial development is an indispensable tool for regional development. Due regard should be given to formulation and implementation of programs, strategies and polices that could lead to improvement of entrepreneurship at all levels in order to achieve much desired poverty reduction in Armenia. This study will contribute to existing body of literature on entrepreneurial development by filling gap that yet exist on the relationship between entrepreneurial development and poverty reduction. Further, this study will also proffer adoptable recommendations targeted at poverty reduction to policy makers, international organizations, think tanks and local leaders saddled with regional economic development tasks.
