Key Elements of Financing in Female Digital Entrepreneurship: A Causal Analysis Using DelphiDEMATEL Approach for Bangladesh
Original language description
Female entrepreneurship is beneficial to business and economic development in emerging economies. The main objective of the study was to find the key financial elements that affect running a successful business and the causal relationship between the main financial components for Bangladeshi female digital entrepreneurs. An extensive literature review and Delphi-DEMATEL approaches were applied. Two out of a total of six elements were found to be the cause group, such as government grants or NGOs' assistance, and money received from family, friends, and relatives. On the other hand, personal savings, microcredits, social capital or relational capital, and bank loans are the sources belonging to the effect group, which were more affected by other financial factors. Importantly, when digital women entrepreneurs received financial benefits from government grants or NGO, they were urged to work very hard to confirm profit for their business, as it was the highest positive value in the system. The study is distinctive in the sense that it carries out real-world experiences from digital female entrepreneurs where participants carefully assessed which funding source was best suited for their business and having cause-effect associations. Therefore, policymakers, investors, and the general public will become more aware of the need to encourage the financing of female entrepreneurs in the digital sphere.
