For eight years, Eliška Blažková documented the life of ultra- Orthodox Jewish community living in Mea She´arim quarter of Jerusalem. Men with long beards wearing caftans are a favourite subject of tourist photographers. But the author of the book Haredim went much further. She wanted to take a look at the everyday life of a closed society, which has its own rules and standards that are hard to understand for the outside world. This publication is an important testimony not only of Judaism bus also of the work of a photographer who went beyond the limits of the possible.
