At present, planar inductors made on a printed circuit board are rather commonly employed. There are various software applications to help the designer with their proposal. These applications are usually based on numerical methods created according to commonly utilized approximations. In the past we introduced a paper on optimising such single-layer inductors by Self-Organising Migrating Algorithm and Maple Algorithm. In this paper we would like to introduce another method of optimisation using the Differential evolution. The comparison of results gained by the Self-Organising Migrating Algorithm, Differential Evolution and Maple Algorithm is given in this paper.
