    Software for evaluation of triglyceride transesterification kinetics

  • Original language description

    The software is designed to evaluate kinetics data from batch experiments, especially for the evaluation of kinetics of transesterification reactions of triglycerides (e.g. biodiesel production). However, it can be used for modeling similar consecutive and reversible reactions. The input parameters are the estimated lag of the reaction start (the software smooths the experimental error), and the weights for fitting the respective compound concentrations (the user may wish to obtain the smallest error for a compound of special interest), The output comprises the list of reaction rate constants. Three models of fat transesterification are built into the software. The mathematical core of the model consists of the Nelder-Mead minimisation algorithm. Eachstep of the minimisation algorithm needs to solve an initial value problem for a system of ordinary differential equations. This is done by the standard Runge-Kutta method.
