Structure and Morphology of oriented isotactic polypropylene sheets
Original language description
Sheets of isotactic polypropylene (iPP) uniaxially oriented to the draw ratio 5, 8 and 11 were annealed at temperatures 120-172°C. The sample structure and morphology was examined by X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, DSC and mechanical testing. Thestructure characteristics were related to mechanical properties measurements. The orientated samples are characterized by a system of parallel oriented fibrils, where orientation degree, crystal size, crystallinity and melting behaviour depend on draw ratio and annealing temperature.
