The article is focused on the use of spatial analyses in support and planning of population sheltering. It presents a basic overview and division of spatial analyses used in work with geographic information systems. Further, the article examines fundamental aspects of nuclear explosions based on which it introduces a case study of risk zones mapping, finding evacuation routes and evacuation centres by means of spatial analyses and queries.
