Software Framework for Teaching Real-Time Systems Programming
Original language description
This article presents software framework which can be used is real-time programming courses without special hardware requirements, using just standard PC. It consists of several applications which emulate real hardware, such as a clock with digital display etc. The applications offer graphical user interface which students can control with their own programs. This way the students are more motivated to learn than by using simple text output to console and their programs do not need to be as complex as if they needed to implement graphical user interface in their program by themselves. Although using real hardware is irreplaceable in the learning process, for certain stages the described approach with hardware emulators is sufficient and it has the advantage of being less resource-demanding than real hardware.
