Original language description
The contribution outlines possible solutions applicable to tasks in planning and implementation of emergency management (sheltering in buildings). The crucial element of the implementation is the geographic information system (GIS) which is, due to its characteristics, ideal for dealing with spatial issues. This contribution is focused on data as one of the essential areas of a successful GIS application. The data is divided into two layers ? reference and thematic. The majority of the article is devoted to the way of obtaining and creating reference data for the field of population sheltering.
