The article deals with a low cost development kit based on the Atmel microprocessor. That development kit is supposed to serve as an educational support for microcomputer programming classes within the scope of subjects oriented at microcomputers and PLCs. As that designed kit model application, a low cost access system is described. The iButton family members by Maxim Integrated Products are used for door lock opening identification elements.
