Indication of critical infrastructure resilience failure. Safety and Reliability
Original language description
This paper focuses on assessment of critical infrastructure resilience consisting of timely indication of possible failure of a critical infrastructure. This method of assessment is based on determining indicators of disturbance resilience of selected and tightly interconnected sectors of critical infrastructure, i.e. energy, ICT, transport, water management, etc. It is a holistic approach to assessment of critical infrastructure resilience based on a complex perception of specific set of political, economic, social, technological, legal and ecological indicators. The essence of the submitted paper is a systemic approach consisting of inter-sectoral assessment based on re-searching the mutual relationships of selected critical infrastructure sectors. This approach considers propaga-tion of cascade impacts and synergic effects in the critical infrastructure system. The mentioned systematic so-lution is applied through a progressive Bottom-Up approach, which is based on assessment of critical infra-structure from local (town, region) upwards, and is presently implemented in certain world countries (e.g. Switzerland and The Netherlands).
