Program metasw is a software application in Matlab. The application is used for extraction of the electromagnetic metamaterial parameters of periodic structures. Measured or simulated reflection and transmission parameters of a given periodic structure are required input for the program. The output data produced by the program are the effective permittivity and permeability. The program enables modelling of metamaterials with an either positive or negative material parameters. In case of negative materials time time domain causality is ensured by application of Kramers-Kronig equations. Models produced by the program are approximated by suitable approximation functions such as Debye, Lorentz and their combinations.
