  • Original language description

    Advertising discourse features common linguistic means exploited in unique and specific ways. Metaphorical expressions are pervasive language elements that enable the advertisers to portray wide range of qualities of the advertised products without verbalizing them. This is possible due to metaphorical nature of our thinking. Metaphor as a conceptual process provides advertisers the possibilities to present unlimited number of features in very limited number of words; at the same time advert recipientsnaturally decode and understand such messages.
