Intellectually Gifted Pupils and Educational Problems Connected to Their Gift Development in a Common Integrated Classroom
Original language description
This article deals with issues related to improving the quality of education of intellectually gifted pupils. Intellectually gifted pupils and educational problems connected to their gift development in a common integrated classroom are described. Usinginterviews with four gifted pupils, six key categories were identified. It was found out that educational problems are caused by the disrespect of the educational needs of these pupils and the wrong interpretation of these needs by teachers. The described research probe adds further knowledge to the already known listing of typical cognitive characteristics of gifted pupils and sets up conditions needed for these characteristics to be developed and hence eliminate educational problems of these children.
