It is a quarter of century in 2015 since the transformation of Czech economy took place from central-oriented to market oriented one. Privatization was performed by many ways. Small breweries were auctioned and sold to private persons or enterprises, medium-sized ones converted into joint-stock corporations and sold mainly with the privatizing coupons. During this privatization process mainly short-term financial effect was taking place, this way the majority of state-owned breweries became the part offoreign corporations. Foreign corporations improved technology in breweries and closed small and medium-sized breweries.
