Supervision of medical staff - a necessity or an extra service?
Original language description
Few medical instotutions escape the need to innovate or to react to changes, new findings, new forms of lifelong learning, the changing concept of nursing care or the continual quality improvement of medical and nursing care. Medical instotutions should often review their present practices, organization structure, composition and numbers of their staff. Gradual changes in the operation of medical instotutions place high demands on medical staff with regard to theoretical knowledge, skills and versatility. In most medical institutions, the changes of dynamics of patient turnover are closely linked with hogher demands on medical staff, as mentioned above. Nowadays, medical institutions offer a variety of ways to support their staff, including satisfaction surveys for medical staff and for reactions of emplyers to information these findings might suggest. Further, emplyees are offered different kinds of benefits or motivational/evaluative interviews with their superiors. The current need is to encourage emplyers for communicating openly, raising questions and seeking supervision-based solutions fort their daily professional dilemmas.
