Original language description
The aim of the presented text is to analyze the level of health literacy in health promotion, namely in healthly lifestyles, in a selected population of seniors. The text forst defines health literacy as a key concept, and explains the importance and models of health literacy, including the possibilites of measuring it. The paper presents the results of an empirical survay of a slected population of seniors, namely students of the University of the 3th age at Palacky University in Olomouc, where a higher degee of health literacy can be expected compared to the regular senior population.
