Design of material transport on the base of logistics
Original language description
Globalization of market economic system, trade globalization and globalization of production and enterprises pose certain challenges (mainly competition in time and efficiency) while bringing about opportunities for contemporary enterprise development [1]. Strategic management is a collection of actions and decisions taken in order to achieve organization's goals and objectives. Decision making proces is greatly affected by internal and external factors. Systematic identification and analysis of the effects of such factors on organization success has received significant research attention. Decision making, for which we gather most of our information, has become a mathematical science today. It formalises the thinking we use so that, what we have to do to make better decisions is transparent in all its aspects. Adoption of environmental management practices is essential in every industry to fulfill the requirement of environmental regulations. All countries have started to focus on implementing environmental practices practices like Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) in all types of industries. The impact of the distribution of raw materials in a company is a very important topic because the main objective of all enterprises is the customer satisfaction in a timely manner. A correct network distribution involves some key concepts of production which seeks to take care of the efficiency of the raw material supply chain. The problem occurs when a decision on adopting certain criteria measured by different, hard-to-compare values, is made. In that case, it is necessary to apply the multi-criteria decision making method in order to adopt optimum technicaleconomic indicators of the transportation system for mineral resources and evaluate its impact on the environment. An important part of all the researches aimed at finding an optimum way of transport through the environment is to establish relations between all the factors affecting selection of a system as well as environmental protection. The distribution of raw materials and to take care of the efficiency of the raw materiál supply chain is very important for all companies. Nowadays some mineral raw materials are transported over dozens, hundreds or even thousands of kilometers from mines to primary consumers. Negative effect of mineral raw materials transport on the environment is most pronounced in the transportation process which takes place outside production area – when delivering ore to raw material preparation plant, processing plant or to final consumers. Excavated mineral resource gets its value after transport to the processing plant or to the primary consumers. In a complex chain of exploitation and processing of mineral resources, transportation plays a crucial role. The problems folowing the transport of raw materials can be seen through economic and environmental indicators. In this monograph the problem of selection of the best model of transport through the environment is discussed, ie, the suggestion of environmental transport is given. On this occasion, except for the facts related to the environmental issues, technical and economic parameters are also analyzed. For the purposes of the choice of external transport, a model was set, also based on techno-economic and Multi-Criteria analysis. ELECTRE methods and the Simple Additive Weight method were used. SELBESTRA is a software designed based on model and it has been tested on several non-metal mines in Serbia. The model was applied to potential new mines and some basic principals were established. Model that is the result of this research is so-called open model and it can be extended and adapted to various mineral resources and other means of transportation. Apartfrom the theoretical considerations, it can be applied to solving practical problems.
