Electric and Thermal Properties of Multicomponent Polymer Nanocomposites
Original language description
The electric and thermal properties of the nanocomposites based on immiscible and partially miscible polymer systems filled with different amount of carbon nanotubes (CNT) have been studied. The aim of the study was to modify the brittle epoxy matrix bysilicone elastomer with a view to improve the toughness characteristics and control the value of electrical percolation threshold and total conductivity of nanocomposites. Results obtained have shown that with increasing of SEF and S184 (silicone elastomer) concentrations in the nanocomposites the percolation threshold is shifted to lower value of CNT. Thus, at 5 vol.% of S184 in epoxy matrix, the percolation threshold is only 0.5 vol. % of CNT. Moreover, the thermal conductivity of this nanocomposite increased significantly compared to nanocomposites of epoxy with 2 vol. % of CNT.
