    Procedures permitting to prepare homogeneous antibacterial nanofibre structures of the desired morphology by employing a suitable combination of variables during the electrospinning process and consequent nanostructure treatment are presented. A comparison is made of filtration capabilities and bacteria deactivation possibilities of nanostructures prepared from polyurethanes, polyvinylidene fluorid and polyurethanes modified by phthalocyanines. Finding that the functionalized nanofibre structures have an effect on bacteria filtration and deactivation processes was confirmed by microbiological, physico-chemical and molecular biological analyses, such as the inoculation in a nutrient agar culture medium, flow cytometry and real-time polymerase chain reaction. The structures studied were described using a new digital image analysis technique based on black and white scanning electron microscopy pictures and by means of porometry.
