Magnetorheology of suspensions based on carbonyl iron particles coated with poly(glycidyl methacrylate)
Original language description
In this study, the surface of carbonyl iron (CI) particles was modified with poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA) via atom transfer radical polymerization. This technique was employed to obtain the polymer chains with controllable structure and thus to beable to adjust the magnetorheological performance of CI-PGMA particles. It was shown that, CI-PGMA particles exhibit enhanced sedimentation and chemical stability, while the MR performance sustained on the appropriate level.
