Star-shaped poly(lactic acid) prepared through direct polycondensation of lactic acid
Original language description
In this contribution, the preparation and characterization of carboxyl-functionalized poly(lactic acid) (PLA) with non-linear (star shape) architecture was performed. As a core molecule pentetic acid (5 functional) was used and reaction was done in molten state through simple polycondensation of lactic acid. Furthermore non-toxic catalyst methanesulphonic acid was employed. The results obtained from NMR show that desired structure can be achieved by simple polycondensation reaction.
