Original language description
Hybrid Ag-ZnO micro-structured nanoparticles and ZnO hierarchical microparticles were prepared by microwave assisted hydrothermal synthesis. Here we present rapid and energy saving one-pot solvothermal synthesis using microwave pressurized system. Zinc nitrate and silver nitrate were used as sources of Zn2+ and Ag+. Hexamethylenetetramine (HMTA was used as reduction and precipitation agents in water solutions. Crystalline structures of obtained Ag-ZnO, ZnO powders were characterized by X-ray diffractometer. Scanning electron microscopy was used for characterization of structure, morphology, particle size Ag-ZnO filler. Elemental analysis of Ag-ZnO filler was made by Energy dispersive X-ray analysis. Growth mechanism of particles was elucidated. The antibacterial activity was evaluated by inhibition zone test; one of the materials performed well against Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans.
