    Antibacterial surface on polyurethane sheets by Ag/ZnO nanoparticles

  • Original language description

    A method of an antibacterial modification of polyurethane surface is presented. An electrospun polyurethane membrane with incorporated antibacterial agent was applied as a coating of polyurethane sheets. As an antibacterial agent the hybrid bimetallic filler was used, which combines the antibacterial effect of silver and zinc oxide. Using electrospun submicron-fiber membrane the filler was uniformly and thinly applied on the polyurethane surface by compression molding. The antibacterial activity of three filler concentrations were tested and demonstrated an effective antibacterial action against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
