    Cross-polarization/magic-angle-spinning (CP-MAS) 13C NMR spectroscopy is well established method for study of cross-linking in polymer blends.1 Here, we study dry-out poly(vinyl)alcohol/dialdehydecellulose (PVA/DAC) hydrogels (xerogels) using 1H and 13C spin-lattice relaxation times in the rotating frame, T1ρ(1H) and T1ρ(13C).2 With DAC in solution being highly reactive and aging rapidly, we also study PVA/DAC xerogels prepared using DAC solutions of various age.
