The influence of surface properties of materials on biofilm formation
Original language description
Polymeric materials, predominantly conducting polymers, have become the subject of intensive research thanks to their unique properties which predominant them for preparation of devices for biosensors, neural implants, tissue engineering scaffolds or drug delivery services. Mentioned unique properties of conducting polymers comprise the combined ionic and electronic conductivitiy and easy modification either by chemical way, using doping acids, or by plasma treatment, which changes the properties of polymeric surfaces and wettability.
