Composite multiactive hydrogels for wound dressings
Original language description
The combined action of soluble chitosan and polypyrrole significantly enhances the prepared dressings' qualities in multiple areas that promote wound healing. The prepared composite wound dressing containing 5% of polypyrrole particles can scavenge ROS and reduce intlammation, stimulate the immune system, and protect the wound through innate antimicrobial action. Prepared composite hydrogels thus possess all the essential characteristics needed for the next generation of active wound dressing. ln the future, there may be numerous uses for the condensation reaction between DAC and PPy used for the creation of conductive scaffolds and wound dressings.
