A Few Words about Fuzzy Sets and Fuzzy Linear Programming
Original language description
The aim of the article is not to present absolutely new things, but to introduce notion ?fuzzy set? and basic operations with these sets to the readers. The article introduces the definition and properties of the sets and shows their use in linear programming. Fuzzy logic, which uses the whole interval < 0,1> for the degree of membership to the set, where the certainty of belonging to the set is only a special case of the membership degree, gives wider opportunities to precise methods of solving a problem given on the base of vague perception with respect to formulation of the problem. Mathematical processing of this subjective uncertainty opens a wide application sphere for fuzzy sets and systems. Data coming out of fuzzy systems are general, with notprecisely set boundaries. Examples of such systems are social and economic systems, diagnostic systems and human perception.
