Cardiovascular diseases are responsible for high morbidity and mortality not only in our región, but also in the whole westem world. More then 60% of deaths of patients with coronary heart disease is caused by cardiac arrest. Incidency of cardiopulmonaryresuscitation becouse of cardiac arrest is 49,5-66 per 100 000 people. This article is a detailed description of six hours of life of an 59- years old man with cardiac arrest caused by myocardial infarction started with the call to the rescue systém operátor up to the final treatment in cardiosurgical centre. From the beginning the diagnosis and treatment were complicated by obscure anamnesis, non-specific signs during the first examination by emergency doctor and, eventually by delayed laboratory andother signs. The most important factors for the successful resuscitation are the early štart of cardiopulmonary resucitation, the primary reason that caused cardiac arrest and other comorbidity and generál condiuon of the patient.
