Comparison of the Guide Services within Tourism in Countries of the European Union
Original language description
The article is based on long-time activities of the author in the field of guide services in tourism and on the bachelor thesis of student Petra Skleničková, which has not been defended yet. The student managed to collect a wide range of materials aboutguide services from 28 EU countries owing to her patient and systematic work. These materials formed the basis for the thorough study of problems experienced, for the comparison of the situations in our country and in the European Union, and for the formulation of the common proposal for a solution to the current complicated situation of Czech tourist guides. Due to the different points of view of the participating parties (the Czech Republic Guides Association, the Association of Tour Operators and Travel Agencies of the Czech Republic, the Association of Czech Tour Operators, the Group of Guides in the Czech Republic) it will not be easy to enforce a proposal.
