    The preparation of anion-exchange membrane

  • Original language description

This paper deals with the preparation of hybrid anion-exchange membrane which consists in the surface modification of commercially polyethersulfonic (PES) membrane. It is a covalently bonded layer comprising poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene-co-4-vinylbenzyl chloride) copolymer which improves the electro-chemical properties of the PES membrane. The prepared anion-exchange membranes were tested by determining ion-exchange capacity, specific resistance, permselectivity. Study of morphology of prepared membranes was performed by SEM analysis and FT-IR spectroscopy. The prepared membranes have potential in use for example in electrodialysis processes.
