Perception of Paranoid Communiaction from the Students´ Perspective
Original language description
This contribution is focused on one communication disorder – paranoid communication from the perspective of students. Students from the College of Polytechnics in Jihlava, the Czech Republic and the University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, the Netherlands, studied during the International Week (IW) of Social Work in Psychiatry, a case study of one man, who suffers with several mental illnesses. One topic of this study was paranoid communication. The contribution shows students´ perception of paranoid communication obtained by means of a focus group at the beginning of the International Week and at the end of the one-week-long program. Within the framework of this program the students acquired not only theoretical information, but also visited a psychiatric clinic and organisations for people with several mental illnesses, they also had discussions with people with several mental disorders. The students made a list of recommendations on how to converse with people with this communication disorder.
