Multi-criteria Comparison of Savings Accounts on the Czech Market
Original language description
The offer of savings accounts on the Czech market is still relatively broad although the interest rates have fallen and, therefore, the profitability of savings accounts has declined. But they are still popular especially among conservative bank clients. However, the choice of the account is usually not affected only by the interest rate, other factors, such as minimum deposit, minimum balance, cash withdrawal, the possibility to open and operate online, various bank fees etc. are also important. The purpose of this article is to compare the savings accounts offer in the years 2013 and 2018 in the Czech Republic via selected methods of multi-criteria evaluation of alternatives from the perspective of different client’s requirements. The main aim is to assess not only the focus of the banks on a certain type of client (versatility or non-universality of the account parameters), but also the development and changes of the offer in the given years.
