Original language description
Morocco and Egypt are the most attractive and popular tourism destinations in North Africa. The events of the Arab Spring in 2011 brought upon political changes and triggered acts of terrorism in Egypt which became one of the least safe country to visit in the world. Morocco, on the other hand, remained stable and continued to increase, albeit slowly, the number of arrivals each year. As studies show, safety and security of a destination is one of the important indicators of coutry’s competitiveness yet terrorism and political instability has limited impact on such a destination which has a well-developed tourism infrastructure.
